Hope Restored

When we arrived at the church that Sunday morning to speak, it was clear that the Pastor was exhausted. It wasn’t until after the service, when we finally had the chance to sit down with her, that she opened up about how she was truly feeling. Her emotions poured out—her heart was broken.

She spoke of the pain she was carrying: the loss of friends who had left the church, the overwhelming financial stress that clouded her thoughts, and the physical ailments that were beginning to take a toll on her body. Though she loved the Lord and the congregation she served, she was at the end of her rope and confessed she couldn’t see a way forward in continuing the work she had once loved so much.

That evening, Marie and I spent time praying with her, offering encouragement, and ministering to her physical and emotional needs. Before we left, we gave her a prophetic word.

A few days later, she called us, her voice full of excitement. She said that her physical issues were almost completely gone and that the word we had given her had brought her so much hope, and she had embraced it in her personal prayers. It gave her the courage to open up to her church leaders about her struggles. In response, there was an overwhelming outpouring of love and support, including unexpected and generous financial assistance. She called to thank us, saying that our visit was perfect timing and a turning point for her.

This story is just one example of many we could share. When we sold our home and left our church, all we knew was that God was calling us to go “encourage the leaders.” We didn’t fully understand what that meant but we stepped out in faith and obedience. Today, we are more certain than ever that this was a divine calling and is exactly what is needed in the chaotic times we are living through.

We are able to do this work because of the financial support we receive from people like you. We would ask you to consider making a monthly gift to Metron Ministries to help us serve pastors and leaders around the world.
